Night Thirty Three…Dulce De Leche Grilled Cheese

So, for the next few weeks, Jake and I will be going meatless, except for eggs.  Be prepared when you read the blog that these will be vegetarian meals, even though I’m not sure how well a vegetarian would agree with how accurate the term will apply to these meals. 🙂

I tried this recipe the other night, and it was rather good, but really sweet.  It’d be perfect for a breakfast!

I didn’t buy the dulce de leche from the store; I actually made it myself using that recipe that’s been floating around Pintrest.  All you do is put a can of sweetened condensed milk in a crockpot full of water and let it cook on low overnight; it makes a rich, tangy-sweet caramel when you open up the can in the morning.  If you go this route, be sure to allow the can 2-3 hours to cool before opening. 🙂
Is it a keeper?-I’d say so! 🙂  Jake was surprised it wasn’t MORE sweet, but he liked it a lot.  I’ll make it some other day for breakfast.

Messiness Factor: 2 out of 5.  Blending the ingredients and grilling the sandwiches makes for an easy meal! 🙂
